POEA staff and PNP-CIDG operatives launched a raid at Gedisco Center located at Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila to inspect recruitment agencies operating within its premises.
Based on tipsters, a number of recruitment agencies in the area are believed to be flaunting POEA guidelines, along with foreigners conducting recruitment activities.
The raid yielded 12 recruitment agencies cited for inhuman and decent recruitment practices and various POEA violations.
Raiding team caught staff of Mind Resources Corporation, which operates in two floors of Gedisco Center, in the act of recruiting applicants despite revocation of its license since October 2014. Lebanese national Zein Hussein was found on the second floor conducting recruitment while company clerk Haydee Mamolindas was on the company’s fourth floor office.
Eleven agencies were caught in various forms of POEA violations such as failure to post organizational charts and anti-illegal recruitment posters, failure to issue BIR-authorized receipts, among others. The agencies found to be violating POEA rules are the following:

2. MS Brains International Manpower Services
3. M & P Employment Inc.
4. Creative Artist Placement Services Inc.
5. Care International Placement Corp.
6. Bionic Manpower Services
7. Femex Recruitment Agency
8. Rejoice Employment Agency
9. Arjoy’s Human Resources Management
10. Gold & Green Manpower Management
11. Rotana International Manpower
POEA’s adjudication office has filed charges against the above-listed agencies, with the endorsement to IACAT-DOJ to monitor recruitment agencies operating at Gedisco Center. The raiding team plans to conduct future inspections at an undisclosed time.
