A 66-year-old man allegedly raped his Filipino domestic helper and threatened to throw her out of the window if she revealed the incident, a High Court in Hong Kong heard on Monday.

According to South China Morning Post, Lee Man-biu reportedly dragged her Filipino maid, identified in court as X, into his bedroom and raped her on October 13, 2014. The man also allegedly offered his maid HK$500, which he told the police was a payment for the sexual services she offered.

Lee denies two counts of indecent assault and one of rape at the 40th-floor Sham Tseng flat between March and October, 2014.

Prosecutor Steven Kwan Man-wai said Lee first molested X on March 2014 while his wife and daughter were on the mainland, where they usually spend most of the week. Kwan continued that Lee suddenly pulled X into his lap attempting to give her a massage, which she refused. He later followed the maid into her room.

The court heard that six months later, X was molested again just hours before the alleged rape happened.

The Filipino woman, who became more alert after the first incident decided to film the molestation attempt, the prosecutor said. However, Lee pulled X from the living room into his bedroom, which, according to X, had two towels placed on the bed before Lee put off the light.

“He took off his clothes and underwear and raped her there,” said Kwan.

X fled the scene and called the police, who found her in a distresed state, the prosecutor added. But Lee told the police that he was in an intimate relationship with his domestic helper. He also said he had not been wearing protection during sex because X was menstruating, though Kwan suggested a pathologist had confirmed otherwise.

The Filipino helper will testify before Madam Justice Esther Toh Lye-ping on Tuesday.
