A Filipino in Dubai was charged in court after he invaded the privacy of his housemates by fixing a recording device in the bathroom to record them naked.
Forty-two-year-old MO, an accountant, rented a 2-bedroom flat, kept a bedroom for his family while subletting the other room to AS, 34, employed as a supervisor who shared a bathroom with another woman, who rented another rooom improvised from a portion of the hall.
AS, while taking a shower on September 28, discovered a hole in the ceiling.
“I checked the matter and noticed a camera been fixed there. It was exactly above of the bathtub. After discovering the camera, I told the other woman who shares with me the bathroom. As we were sure of the camera, we called the police,” she said.
Police authorities arrived at the flat and inspected the wire connections leading to the camera. It was found out that the camera was hooked to a radio receiver, and monitor which was accessible at the bathroom used by MO and his family.
MO was arrested outside of the flat and confessed to fixing the camera when confronted about the accusation and admitted to watching his flatmates live while in the shower.
