After admitting to stealing her employer’s jewelry, a Filipina domestic helper leapt to her death from a 21st floor apartment in Hong Kong.
Twenty-nine year old Janice, worked for Celia Sie, reportedly a former local television actress and radio host, according to EJ Insight.
The incident happened Thursday at 9:55am when Sie was at her The Riva home in the upscale area of Yuen Long district, Chinese daily Apple Daily reported.
Janice reportedly jumped from the kitchen window. Paramedics later pronounced her death at the scene. No suicide note has been found.
According to investigators, Janice might have been distraught after she confessed to stealing her employer’s jewelry. Sie apparently confronted Janice after she cold not locate the piece of valuable jewelry worth about HK$600,000 (P3.64 million). Probers added that Janice admitted into pawning the jewels.
